Tulip Bulbs
Tulips are well-known for their early spring blooms, cup-shaped blossoms, and association with Dutch culture. They are available in a variety of bright and cheerful colors that will make any garden feel welcoming. Tulips typically reach a height of 10-24 inches and make great cut flowers. Use them throughout the landscape as mass plantings, borders, or to fill containers. Most tulips thrive as perennials in zones 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. They may also be grown as annuals in zones 9 and 10. When growing in warmer zones, it is best to plant pre-cooled bulbs. Tulips require 12-16 weeks of temperatures below 50F to bloom. They are typically avoided by wildlife, including deer and rabbits.
