Perennial in zones 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. Annual in zones 9 and 10 (choose pre-cooled bulbs). Attracts pollinators. Displays bright red with yellow-edged blooms in the mid to late spring. Recommended for growing in beds and containers. In the landscape Apeldoorn’s Elite Tulips are great for use as a cut flower, border, bedding, background, or bouquet planting. It has an upright growth habit and is tolerant to deer and rabbit grazing. The flowers are toxic to dogs, cats, and horses and are not recommended for culinary use. Apeldoorn’s Elite Tulips are one of the best for perennial beds. They come back for about five years in a row in full splendor and naturalize remarkably well in many areas for years to come.
