Peony Bulbs

Peony bulbs, or rather roots, are best planted in the fall to establish roots before winter. Plant by digging a hole large enough to accommodate the root and place it with the eyes (sprouts) facing upward. Backfill soil around the root so it is covered no more than 2 inches below the surface. Herbaceous peonies will die to the ground yearly and return each spring with blooms forming on new growth. Peonies are a classic spring treasure as their beautiful blooms are popular for their full, colorful, and versatile use in the garden and as cut flowers.
