When most people think of dessert pizza, they typically imagine a warm, bready crust with something resembling pie filling on top. Well this is not your typical fruit pizza. Instead, this sweet treat is cool and popping with the flavor of your favorite fruits. Imagine something closer to a cross between a sugar cookie and a fruit tart! Enjoy one of our favorite summer treats with this delicious and easy recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 16.5 oz Package Pillsbury Sugar Cookie Dough
- 1 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 1 8 oz Package Cream Cheese
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Recommended Fruit for Topping:
- Kiwi
- Strawberries
- Banana
- Mandarin Oranges
- Pineapple
- Grapes
- Blueberries
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350 F. While it is heating up, slice the roll of cookie dough and place the slices around your ungreased 14 inch pizza pan. With clean hands, press the dough while cold to roughly spread it around the pan. Then, use the bottom of a measuring cup to smooth and even out the dough. Pat the bottom of the measuring cup against some flour to prevent the dough crust from tearing.
2. Bake the cookie dough crust for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool completely before topping.
3. While the crust is cooking and cooling, wash and prepare your fruit for topping. Thin slices or chopped is best.
4. In a bowl, cream the powdered sugar, vanilla, and cream cheese together. Spread evenly over the cooled cookie dough crust. Then, top with your desired combination of prepared fruit.
