There are lots of types of melons. The Other Melons category includes melons like Christmas Melons, Charentais, Galia, Canary, and others. Cantaloupes (aka muskmelons) have a scaly outer rind. Honeydew melons have a smooth rind and higher water content than cantaloupes. Casaba melons have a ridged husk and often a pointed end. Crenshaw melons are typically oblong or acorn-shaped. Asian melons might include varieties from the other groups and are grouped here because of their popularity in Asian cultures or cuisine.
