There are a million ways to make the world better. But nothing can happen without action. The best way to make a difference is to start serving, donating, and seeing the people who are within your reach. Big, honorable stories often begin with someone doing something very simple, but impactful. Giving Tuesday is all about fostering a global community of generosity. We invite you to join us by participating in the Giving Tuesday movement. We will donate a portion of holiday gift guide sales from Nov 26th to Dec 3rd 2024 to Mountainside Homestead for growing and donating fresh food over the coming months to those affected by Hurricane Helene.

“A better future is being built by all of us right now, in the billions of small actions we take each day. Acts of care, love, and understanding extend outward, like the threads of a beautiful tapestry. Whether it’s offering a kind smile, a helping hand, or an hour of your time—these acts have a way of rippling out, becoming part of something much greater. That is the power of radical generosity.”

Giving Tuesday Global Network

radical generosity definition - The concept that the suffering of others should be as intolerable to us as our own suffering.

What is Giving Tuesday?

While it is celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the United States, the movement is encouraged year-round. Individuals, small groups, communities, and organizations can participate in many ways. Check out some of these resources for ideas on how you can join the movement.

Mountainside Homestead: Feeding the Community

What Ken and Amy are doing for their North Carolina community is truly inspiring. In the wake of Hurricane Helene, Ken and Amy will be dispersing fresh food donations grown on their homestead through their community to offer long-term relief as the community comes together to rebuild. While most people think of the immediate needs of a community after a natural disaster, few consider the lasting devastation once media attention dies down. Because the Mountainside Homestead was largely spared of major damage, they can provide a sense of help and aid to surrounding small-town community members who were not as fortunate. The fresh produce they grow will be dispersed to the community over several months, including quick-growing microgreens. In continued support of this feat, True Leaf Market is donating a portion of gift guide holiday sales from Nov 26th to Dec 3rd 2024 to Mountainside Homestead to further support the community's needs.
