- A vegetable type fennel native to southern Europe that is harvested for the bulb, or grown as a microgreen.
Foeniculum vulgare var azoricum Unlike common fennel, which is prized for its feathery leaves, Florence Fennel forms a small 3-4" bulb at the base of the plant that is harvested and eaten like a vegetable if harvested early. The plant itself only grows 2-3 ft tall, which makes it an ideal candidate for smaller gardens. Approx. 8,500 seeds per ounce.
