Salad tomatoes (sometimes called 'saladette' tomatoes) are larger than cherry tomatoes, but smaller than traditional slicing tomatoes, ranging from about golf ball size to tennis ball size. So called because of their popularity for inclusion in salads. Tip: Serve them at room temperature for maximum flavor impact, as cold mutes the flavor profile.
