Paracress Seeds
Paracress is a unique medicinal herb of the Asteraceae family that is also grown as a microgreen. Originally it is from South America though it now grows throughout the tropics and parts of Asia. Its use as a medicinal herb goes back to its use as a toothache numbing agent as it contains analgesic spilanthol. You can grow this annual as a flowering herb or as a perennial in humid regions with an average temperature of around 82 F. Its flowers resemble that of a buttonbush with an orange center circled by yellow. It does best in full sun but can handle some partial shade. When eaten, the foliage can cause some tingling and slight numbness that lasts 2-20 minutes depending on the amount consumed.
