Happy Chinese New Year! The Lunar New Year is the beginning of a calendar year based on the cycles of the moon. While the Chinese New Year may seem like a fun day to many in the U.S., it is a day off significance to many of Hindu, Buddhist, Islamic, Jewish, and Asian cultures. The year lasts 12 moon cycles which last around 29 days each. The year totals 354 days.

Like the traditional New Year symbolism you may be used to, the Chinese New Year celebrates the leaving behind of bad energy and welcoming in positivity for a new year. But unlike the common New Year, a Chinese New Year celebration may last up to 15 days.

Each year is represented by an animal, this year is The Year of the Tiger. The tiger is symbolic of bravery, courage, and strength. This year is being embraced with great hope for peace and healing around the world.

One of the greatest focuses of those celebrating, is spending time with family. Throughout the year our lives are filled with the stress and worries of working, responsibilities, and more. But this time allows you to focus on what is most important in your life.

We hope this year finds you happy and well. To bring this gray renewing energy to your garden, we recommend celebrating with us and your families by trying our Year Of The Tiger Seed Collection from our Kitazawa brand.
